The cloud storage service is adding the ability to rename your “Add to OneDrive” shortcuts, which should make finding specific files and folders much easier.
People can now rename shortcuts they’ve added to OneDrive web using the “Add to OneDrive” feature – a tiny enhancement that will undoubtedly be appreciated by users all around the world.

The upgrade is scheduled to ship in June 2022, according to Microsoft’s official 365 roadmap, so it should be available in the coming weeks. It will be available to all OneDrive web users, including GCC and DoD users, when it launches, demonstrating Microsoft’s commitment to the product.
The update is the latest in a series of changes to OneDrive in recent months, as Microsoft tries to make the service more helpful in the new age of hybrid working.
Users of OneDrive for Business will soon have access to a dedicated feed that highlights current activity related to their files, according to the firm. In OneDrive for Business Web, a new Activity column on the ‘My Files’ page now shows which of your shared documents have unseen edits and comments.
It also announced an update that allows users to define access rights for files before copying a sharing link, allowing them to better control who has access to their files.
Users of Microsoft 365 will soon benefit from improved integration between OneDrive and video conferencing platform Teams, thanks to the addition of a new ‘Your Teams’ section to the ‘More Places’ tab, which allows users to easily access and work with their files on Teams.
Despite the fact that Google Drive is now the most popular cloud storage service by a significant margin, Microsoft will hope that changes like these will help OneDrive win a larger share of the business market.
