AWS is going after on-premises hardware provider

With a new collection of goods and services, Amazon Web Services (AWS) is aiming to hit on-premises hardware providers where it hurts.

Outposts, the cloud hosting giant’s on-premises cloud-in-a-box solution, will now support its Dedicated Hosts platform.

AWS is also moving into the “pre-cloud” space by allowing third-party resellers to offer its Storage Gateway Hardware Appliance.

AWS Outposts is a managed device that allows users to access Amazon cloud services from their own data centres.
