The country’s most popular electric vehicle Tata Nexon received a long-range twin today. The new electric car, known as the Tata Nexon EV Max, has a longer range and a larger battery pack. For personal segment buyers, the Tata Nexon EV Max offers 30 new features and three conventional EV options.

The new Nexon EV Max starts at Rs 17.74 lakh and goes up to Rs 19.24 lakh (ex-showroom India). Tata Motors hopes to broaden its market by targeting customers who want to travel between cities for extended periods of time.

Features of the Tata Nexon EV Max

The Tata Nexon EV max features a 40.5 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack with a 33 percent larger capacity, offering an ARAI-certified range of 437 kilometres (under standard testing conditions), ensuring uninterrupted inter-city commuting. Nexon EV Max has an 8-year or 160,000-kilometer battery and motor guarantee.

The Nexon EV MAX generates 105 kW (143 PS) of power and delivers 250 Nm of immediate torque at the touch of a pedal, resulting in 0 to 100 sprint times of less than 9 seconds.

A 3.3 kW charger or a 7.2 kW AC fast charger will be available for the Nexon EV Max. The 7.2 kW AC fast charger can be used at home or at business, and it can cut charging time in half to 6.5 hours. The Nexon EV MAX will charge from 0 to 80 percent in 56 minutes using any 50 kW DC fast charger, according to the company.

The Nexon EV MAX will be available in two trim options: Nexon EV Max XZ+ and Nexon EV Max XZ+ Lux, both powered by high voltage state-of-the-art Ziptron technology. Intensi-Teal (unique to the Nexon EV MAX), Daytona Grey, and Pristine White are the three colours available. As a standard, a dual tone body colour will be available.

The centre console has been updated to include a Jewelled Control Knob with active mode display, all-new Makarana beige interiors, leatherette seats with ventilation for front passengers, air purifier, wireless smartphone charging, auto-dimming IRVM, and cruise control.

Tata Nexon EV Max has three driving modes

Nexon EV Max has three driving modes: eco, city, and sport, and the improved ZConnect 2.0 connected car technology has eight new capabilities. The ZConnect app has 48 features for connected cars. This will aid in the development of more detailed drive analytics and diagnostics.

Smartwatch integration, auto/manual DTC check, charging limit setting, monthly car reports, and better drive analytics are among the add-on features.

Tata Motors is introducing a Multi-Mode Regen function with the Nexon EV MAX, which allows consumers to simply modify the intensity of regenerative braking using switches on the floor console. Customers can select among four regen levels dependent on driving conditions, starting at Level 0 with no recuperative braking and progressing to Level 3 with single pedal driving assistance.

Tata Motors has also included an intelligent function called auto brake lighting, which activates when a particular level of regen is reached, alerting other drivers. ESP with i-VBAC (intelligent – Vacuum-less Boost & Active Control), Hill Hold, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Vehicle Hold, and all 4-Disc brakes are included in the Nexon MAX.
