Samsung smartwatches have been available in a variety of price points – Classic, Active, Frontier – but there hasn’t been a Pro model yet. According to multiple leaks, the first one will be released this year, including some new details from trusted leakster Ice Universe.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro is said to sport a titanium casing with scratch-resistant sapphire glass. This isn’t the first time Samsung has employed titanium; some Watch3 models used the expensive metal. However, sapphire will be used for the first time.
Regardless, we learned last month that the Watch5 Pro will have a huge battery, 572mAh. For a watch, it’s quite enormous. The 46mm Watch4 Classic and 44mm Watch, on the other hand, only feature 361mAh batteries. According to Safety Korea’s certification documents, the 44mm Watch5 will have a slightly larger 397mAh battery. Despite this, the Pro has a 44 percent larger capacity.
It’s unclear whether or not the 5th generation will have a Classic model. According to sources, Samsung is working on three devices codenamed “Heart-S,” “Heart-L,” and “Heart-Pro.” Those are most likely the Watch5 and Watch5 Pro sizes.
We haven’t heard of any further Pro enhancements above the vanilla model yet, but information is still coming in. There could be more to it than just higher-quality materials and a bigger battery.
