It doesn’t appear that we’ll have to wait long to see the Motorola Razr 2022 – or Motorola Razr 3, if you prefer – as a recent leak provides us a glance at the device as well as some specs to expect.
These unsubstantiated data come from 91mobiles, which claims the foldable flip phone is now codenamed Maven. We have photographs of the phone both open and closed, though many details are difficult to see.
The dual-camera arrangement Motorola has on the Razr 3 (on the back of the phone when it’s opened up) is one of the details we can see. There are now two lenses in this area, supposedly 50MP and 13MP, whereas the Motorola Razr 2020 just had one.
Specifications and display
It also appears that the exterior display will be larger than prior models, however as previously stated, it’s tough to see anything clearly in these images. A 2.7-inch outside display was included with both the Motorola Razr 2020 and the original Motorola Razr 2019.
The phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, and it will be available with 8GB or 12GB of RAM, as well as 256GB or 512GB of internal storage, according to 91mobiles. The rollout is likely to happen in the next months.
All of this fits up nicely with prior Motorola Razr 3 rumours we’ve heard. Earlier rumours included a 512GB storage expansion, as well as a dual-lens 50MP+13MP camera – rumours that have now been confirmed by leaked photographs.
The Razr 3 appears to be a smash hit
There’s only so much you can say about a phone before it’s released, but the Motorola Razr appears to have a lot going for it on paper: top specs, a better camera, and the traditional flip foldable form factor.
Of course, the phone will compete with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, which is set to launch in August, but Motorola owner Lenovo may rely on the Razr name’s historical clout to entice buyers.
Phone customers are always looking for improved specs, better photographs from their devices, and more options, and it appears that the Motorola Razr 3 will provide — making the absence of a 2021 edition of the phone easier to swallow.
We’ll give our complete review once we get our hands on the new foldable, but given what we’ve seen so far, the early indicators are promising. The 2022 Razr could easily outperform its predecessor, which received three stars out of five.
Here’s all we know so far about the Motorola Razr 2022.
