Byron is a British restaurant chain that specialises in burgers and offers a casual eating experience. Tom Byng launched the company in 2007. During the COVID-19 epidemic in the United States in July 2020, the chain closed locations as part of a deal that saw 21 surviving sites and 551 employees transferred to a new owner, Calveton UK.
The burger franchise was formed in London in 2007 by Tom Byng, who came up with the idea for the business while residing in New York City and frequenting the Silver Top Diner in Providence, Rhode Island.

Gondola Group, which also owns ask and Zizzi, owned the chain. In October of 2012, Gondola revealed its intention to sell Byron. Quilvest, the owner of Yo Sushi, was one of the potential bidders. Gondola said in June 2013 that it was abandoning plans to sell Byron after proposals fell short of the company’s anticipated £100 million asking price, opting instead to accelerate Byron’s expansion.
