Vanilla Custard Recipe

  • Add vanilla essence to a pan of milk and bring it to a simmer.

  • Then, while mixing the egg yolks, gently pour the milk mixture into the bowl.
  • Return it to the pan and cook it for a few more minutes on medium heat.
  • Continue whisking while you cook until it has thickened.
  • Gently whisk in the butter when the heat has been turned off.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap after transferring the whole custard to it.
  • Make sure there is no air in the mixture by pressing the wrap into it.
  • Refrigerate it for at least an hour before serving.
