Vanilla Custard Recipe
- Add vanilla essence to a pan of milk and bring it to a simmer.

- Simultaneously, Mix the egg yolks and sugar in a bowl until they are a light yellow colour, and then set aside.
- Then, while mixing the egg yolks, gently pour the milk mixture into the bowl.
- Return it to the pan and cook it for a few more minutes on medium heat.
- Continue whisking while you cook until it has thickened.
- Gently whisk in the butter when the heat has been turned off.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap after transferring the whole custard to it.
- Make sure there is no air in the mixture by pressing the wrap into it.
- Refrigerate it for at least an hour before serving.
